Every bespoke piece of jewellery that we create in our workshop in Sevenoaks is unique, like a piece of art. Using traditional techniques we take great pride in providing a truly personal service which reflects the importance of the occasion, often remodelling old or inherited jewellery into beautiful new designs.
About Dominic
After completing my traditional five year apprenticeship I established my own business in 1991 in a small workshop in the East End of London, initially creating contemporary silver jewellery using beautiful semi-precious gemstones which was soon stocked by designer stores such as Harrods and Liberty of London. As my business and my clientele grew the business moved to a studio in Clerkenwell in 1996 and it was from there that I realised that my passion lay in designing and creating bespoke pieces, influenced and inspired by my love of art.
In 2001 I opened my shop in Sevenoaks, showcasing both fine jewellery and silver collections and expanding my bespoke service.
The heart and soul of Dominic Walmsley Jewellery lies in my belief in maintaining the highest quality craftsmanship by training each new generation of jewellers by the 700 year old tradition of apprenticeships within the Goldsmiths’ Company for which I am proud to play a part in.
My fiance and I were delighted with the wedding bands we asked Dominic to make! He is incredibly knowledgable and made great recommendations based on what kind of bands we were looking for. I gave him some of the jewelry that my mother had given to me before she died, and he very carefully and sensitively was able to take the stones out of the bands to make my ring and melt the metal to make my fiance’s bands. The rings were sized perfectly and exceeded our expectations. Dominic was a pleasure to work with, and we would highly recommend him to everyone. We will certainly be back when we are looking for gifts!
